In particular we specialise in the importation and fabrication of rimless eyewear. Technical expertise acquired over 29 years of experience ensure a consistency of workmanship that deliver a great result every time.

We still do optical fitting and repairs for many other optical retailers and optometrists, however we now have a strong retail component to our business, providing the highest quality optical dispensing available at very reasonable prices. About the owner
Murray O’Brien first entered optics in 1982 as an apprentice with the highly respected Melbourne company Coles and Garrard. He now has over 29 years experience in both retail and wholesale optics. His depth of knowledge in both theoretical and practical optics ensures trusted technical backup and advice. Murray also teaches ophthalmic optics via Melbourne College of Optics, instructing in both theoretical and practical optics. He is currently President of the Australian Dispensing Opticians Association (Victoria).
Australian Owned
We are a locally owned family business. Murray first joined McCrae Yacht Club in 1975, has been an active sailor ever since and is currently a member of the club’s sailing committee. We would encourage everyone to buy locally and keep the money in their community.
